We picked up Hank from Miss Adrianne’s today.  She reported that Hank had been playing outside just before we got there and suddenly threw up.  Adrianne had him all cleaned up and he was so sweet about not feeling well.  We made it home and before we made it inside more throwing up but not one tear and no whining.  Hank sat on the couch, watched Trolls, the movie, and ate crushed ice. Every human being should be so mellow and thoughtful.  If you have not seen Trolls, highly recommend it, great sound track from Justin Timberlake and Gwen Stefani and a very uplifting tale.  Hank especially likes, the song about “sunshine in his pocket” and dances until it stops.  You will come to know that happiness is in all of us – sometimes we need someone to help us find it.

I spent the last two weeks suffering through some form of affliction that creates a non-stop cough. After day 5, it dawned on me I should go see my physician.  After a few tests, turns out I don’t have the flu, but I am actually ill.  It never dawned on me that resting and following instructions was valuable and smart.  Thanks to my care giver, Karen, and to Hank for showing the attitude required to get well.  Still coughing but thankful to be on the mend.  I am thinking good health may be a top priority for me.  With your health, you can likely overcome the other challenges life offers you.

I do continue to believe that a positive approach has its own curative properties, add that to a sense of humor and you deserve to feel better. Mark Twain said” be careful about reading health books. You may die  of a misprint.”  If you actually read the warnings on any medications intended to help you, it is doubtful that you would actually take them. “Joy and temperance and repose slam the door on the doctor’s nose” was the observation of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.  Being a little bit Irish, I finish with a proverb, “a good laugh and a long sleep are the best cures in the doctor’s book.”  Find the right prescription that keeps you physically healthy and mentally “walking on sunshine.”

Have a magical week end.  Mike
