It was also a week to remember lost friends. We are all still missing Brother Bob who died suddenly within minutes of Margie’s birth time on May 4th. Kathy Wonderlich left this world unexpectedly as well and this week end her excellent family will celebrate her remarkable life. I thought of her only this morning when I enjoyed the Apricot Jam she made and delivered with love to our home. Duke, the big black dog is gone and Mmma is missing her on each morning walk. The loss of life experienced from the coronavirus has many around the United States and the world searching for comfort in the memories. Perhaps this fight can unite us but it appears many want it to have the opposite effect.
We celebrate Cinco de Mayo each year because it is Katie Mooney Haga’s birthday. I hesitate to say she is beyond 35 as it does date her mother and I.
Join me in wishing Katie many more birthdays with friends and family.
“Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.”, The Yoda also reminds us “do or do not. There is no try.” The quote is a simple lesson in commitment and the power in giving something our all–not just giving it a try. I am certain I can do more to help those who are less fortunate than myself. Idaho agrees as Idaho Gives raised a record $3,734,615 from 17,434 donors over the past two weeks. Idaho is too great for hate.
Enjoy the weekend. Mike
