The Christmas season is a memorable time for most families.  I enjoy the Christmas card tradition, taking the time to send seasons greetings to friends and loved ones. You must find just the right picture and verse to convey your message.  Some people include letters detailing annual events of everyone in their clan. Occasionally, there are memories of those who have departed. Less often there is a bit of humor.

My friends from Blackfoot, Gary and Alice get the award this year. One paragraph in their dancing reindeer adorned letter revealed that they found themselves “pondering the “here after” a lot. We go into a room and think, What am I here after?” They did opine that it is hard getting older.

If you missed getting your cards out this year, I encourage you send New Year’s wishes or a random Valentine’s Day note to those that are important and meaningful in your life.

I hope you enjoy the pictures from McCall.  We have celebrated every one of the last 36 Christmas seasons at the old cabin in McCall.  We have also not missed skiing on Christmas morning in all that time.  Gifts are exchanged, Karen’s cinnamon rolls are consumed and most of us head to the mountain.

This year is the least snow we have ever experienced at this time of ‘year.  Most of the West and Canada are impacted. Warmer weather and less moisture may make Santa’s journey more pleasant, however, they are the harbinger of the risk to our environment.  A great New Year’s resolution would be to stop global warming.
