Each and every week, I grow more concerned about the upcoming election.  I heard a political analyst suggest ignoring the polls from now on, or at least only watch them until noon is wise.  She alluded to this race being like a roller coaster ride, the euphoria when public opinion shifts to Harris as we climb to the highest level of the ride and the fright, exhilaration when the g forces create “air time” for all voters. Free fall with a known safe stop is manageable for most of us.  A safe stop is not the Project 2025 vision or The Orange Wanker as the most powerful person on the planet. For the coaster to go around again we need to protect our democracy. I agree with the Wanker on this point our largest threat is from within, it is he and his self serving band of “gene boys”.

I have Dodos on my mind this week. I watched an Ai demonstration from the Museum of Zoology in Cambridge U. K. . A dodo and other creatures carry on a conversation with the patrons. The flightless bird has been extinct for 350 years. The Dutch explorers found the bird on an Indian Ocean Island called Mauritius a bit east of Madagascar in the late 1500’s.  The explorer’s brought with them disease and creatures that eliminated the birds in a mere 80 years. There are a few guesses on the origin of the bird’s name. In Dutch dodoor, means “sluggard, or fat arse” in Portuguese doudo means “fool or crazy”. From Latin, Didus ineptu, means “inept dodo.”  The name may have come from the sound the bird was said to have made, in a pigeon like tone, doo doo. Alice in Wonderland, tried to rescue the image of the dodo, who helped her through the travails of her dream. I will never disparage the bird again but hold it as a reminder of what the Wanker has in mind for all of us who do not agree with him.

There are some visuals that have been described by the topic of this message. To cut to the chase, watching the Velvetta Valdamort dancing on the stage of his town hall when he should have been answering questions is one such image. The Wanker would obviously like to avoid tough questions so he digresses to being a Disc jockey.  It is odd that one of his favorite dance vibes comes from the iconic Village People. The French inspired group, targeted disco’s large gay audience. The group’s name refers to Manhattan’s Greenwich Village. The characters “were a symbolic group of American masculinity and macho gay fantasy personas.”  I am pretty sure #45 and his followers are not pro gay, transgender, or any alternative life style. So the question will remain forever, WhY, has he embraced this song. My personal request to him, please dance like everyone is watching.

Kudo’s to Kamala for braving the Fox News gauntlet. Bret did not actually want to let her answer any questions but she made her points over his interruptions. Republican’s who value Country over party are visible and on board. I feel the momentum is toward Harris/Walz as the challenger gets more and more erratic and unhinged.

My disgust for Trump was cemented this week when I heard a young female student, likely LBGTQ, reply when asked, what question would you like to ask the former President, “Do you think I am a human?”  It brought a tear to the eye of the host and re-enforced the mean spirited and divisive rhetoric we have come to expect from the Maga faithful. Words matter.
Enjoy the picture of the comet, Tsuchinshan-Atlas, visible in the Southern sky at dusk. The dark skies in McCall make the comet very visible in this picture from Lisa.  I take the comet as a good omen; first time we have ever seen it on earth.  At the risk of sounding like MTG, it is a sign from heaven for all of us to elect Kamala.
