Presidential elections have become a source of great angst for many of my friends, relatives and myself. One person texted me on Election night about 10 ish as noted above. Trump was winning and we would not have to go through his normal bull shit and militia threats about being cheated. Funny how the Republican winners value the process when it falls their way.
It does defy any explanation when you look at the list of issues that haunt the former President. Twice indicted, convicted on 34 felony counts for covering up his Stormy affair and falsifying business records. He owes E. Jean Carrol $90 million or so for his defamation case as a jury found him guilty of sexual abuse. He incited a riot when he lost the last election. The Orange hypocrite called it a “love fest”. He appears guilty in the Classified Documents case and was caught on tape trying to change the vote counts in Georgia. Fake electors is the best way to change the outcome of an election. Allowing a mob to threaten your Vice President when he does his constitutional duty—“so what.” A racist and misogynist and those who worked with him call him a wanna be fascist. Easy to see why an America focused on the past economy and the imaginary threat of immigrants would overlook all of those disqualifiers.
Back to the future. My spouse suggested this message could be short—“we are all f###d.” However I refuse to give up, we must “fight on” through the next election cycle. I am of the belief that the Project 2025 Agenda will haunt the current MAGA base. Wait until our Government, haplessly led by Trump, devise their plan to deport millions of people. I fear for Ukraine as they will likely be left to dangle, the same place Trump left them during his last term. Russia is delighted, that should scare the hell out of everyone who is thinking clearly. I deeply regret our country fell victim to the dark side. I still believe the force is with us.
“This too will pass” a comment from another friend. My thought was, trying to retain a sense of humor, for sure, it will be like a kidney stone. Drink plenty of water and take deep breaths, we must carry on.
Enjoy the Feliz Navidad that has been installed in our front yard. It is a bit early but we needed a lift.
Keep your faith. Mike
