As I considered a theme for this Friday message, Jeopardy gave me the answer, or maybe the question. As the Orange Wanker continues his Regime’s daily assault on our laws, ethics and morality—our cumulative resilience, the question is found in Dante’s epic poem, what is ‘the circle of hell.’ Imagine a stone hitting the silent pond, the concentric rings flattening as they radiate from the source of energy. In the poem, the punishments reflect the sins—contrapasso. The deeper one goes into Hell, the more severe the sins and punishments. Rejecting spiritual values has consequences.
There are nine circle’s, I will highlight a few; Lust, greed, wrath, fraud and treachery. The lustful are buffeted by an endless tempest, mirroring their unreasoning desires. The Greedy are forced to push huge rocks in a circle, a symbol of their endless pursuit of material wealth. The Wrathful are confined to a river of boiling blood, constantly flogged by a three headed dog. Malebolge-the fraudulent can exist in ten separate ditches, each punishing a different kind of deceit. The deepest level is for those who betray their benefactors-the treacherous are frozen into ice, with “Satan himself at its center.” Dante’s poem transcends time, written in the early 1300’s, the aberrant human conditions exist today.
Unless we truly suspend habeas corpus and due process, #47 and his hench people should be indicted for their crimes against our country. Dante outlined the sins although the punishments may be a bit arcane. I would not be chosen for the jury as I am prejudiced by the facts. Impeachment of the whole crew of MAGA sycophants with their Wanna Be King would seem a light sentence. On second thought, perhaps banishment to El Salvador could be fitting.
Golfer’s have a beef with one particular immigrant group—Canadian Geese. We have a lot of them living on our course and each year they have the most adorable gosling offspring. Seems like each nesting pair has 5-7 babies, which are valiantly guarded by the adults. Unlike the nesting ducks on the course, who also have numerous offspring, the gosling’s have much lower mortality rate. The Geese are strong and aggressive, you don’t want to cross them when they are protecting their skein. I was informed that the Canadians call the birds, Cobra Chickens. The nickname, reflects on the hissing and fierce behavior. These birds are very territorial and we human’s need to take care in their space. The hissing sound reminds one of the irritated Cobra.
The geese and the current Regime have one thing in common, both are full of sh@##t. Please stay engaged and push back against the threat to our way of life and the future of our planet. Mike
