I had the very good fortune to enjoy an early birthday dinner with our friends, I will call them Deb and John to protect their anonymity. Creative cards are a good tradition and I got several that were very humorous. I also received this most excellent shirt that is designed and made in Idaho by Banana Ink. The design highlights our world famous morel’s arranged in the shape of Idaho. We were fortunate to have Lilly as our wait person, delightful young woman. We suggested to her that each of us at the table were at least 3 times her age. In spite of her gracious denial, each of us easily eclipsed 3 X 21. I know, this is sounding like a home movie remake that we all dread watching. So, there is a point.
The conversation turned to politics, no surprise we are not fans of the Orange Wanker. We were unanimous in our optimism as a result of the election outcomes and the polling in regard to #47s popularity. What a wonderful first step in retaking our country from the Project 2025 regime.
Tired of talking about the Orange Cockwomble the Friday message came up. How do you decide the topic for each epistle? There is something interesting each week that I have read or heard that leads me to research, verify, develop and share accurate and hopefully interesting information. It dawned on me on the ride home from diner that a clever approach for this week would be a play on the famous fungus. Interesting parables need a moral or morel in this case.
Like The Boy who Cried Wolf, Pinocchio, Charles Ponzi, Bernie Madoff, and soon to be included in the wall of shame, DJT are examples of serial liars. If you lie often and ‘bigly’ people will eventually not believe you even when you situationally tell the truth. If the Orange Wanker were the fictional wooden puppet his nose would be the size of the proposed Triumphal Arch. After nine months back in the daily spotlight; the lies, lack of empathy, self serving decisions, lawlessness, mean spirited actions …in the name of making American Great Again are finally revealing to his base the true colors of the Orange prevaricator. I sincerely hope the moral to the story of #47 is “what goes around comes around.”
“The true meaning of karma is the principle that actions have consequences, a concept from Eastern religions like Hinduism and Buddhism.” It is more than a cosmic force that delivers rewards and punishments,….the concept focuses on ethical and intentional deeds rather than simple retribution. I am not normally a vengeful human, however, seeing #47 get his ‘just deserts” would be most enjoyable.
As an older music lover, the song Pictures of Lily came to mind. We tried in vain to recall the group and a few minutes after we were dropped off, John and Deb called—it’s the Who! The song is worth a listen. Check out the cool shirt and thank you for wishing me a memorable 75th birthday. Mike
