History does repeat itself, no denying it. You may recall the l965 hit single by Herman’s Hermits, “I’m Henry VIII, I am” Peter Noone and the band appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show. —I’m Henry the Eighth, I am, Henry the Eighth, I am, I am, I got married to the widow next door, she’s been married seven time before.”  Catchy tune with the Second Verse being the same as the first. The popularity of the song helped it top the chart for a very short time.  I am thinking this is the eventual fate of the Orange Wanker. How can America or the World for that matter listen to his never ending repetition of lies, warnings, threats, and grievances.  He has worked on his disingenuous delivery ad nauseam although he is now noted for brief siesta’s during each public appearance.  The recent Press speech leaves you wondering “who is on first” and easily believing the “lights are on—but nobody is home.” Such an awful embarrassment to have him as the leader of our nation.

I don’t have a song reference for Senator Jim Risch. I do think his retirement is way overdue. Once a staunch supporter of Ukraine and person who saw Russia as an enemy. Risch just follows POTUS along with any asinine play book of the day. I wrote Risch to encourage him to vote against  the Save American Act, in my opinion, just an attempt by the Orange Shit Goblin to manipulate the odds in the upcoming mid term elections.  I got a canned response that he had carefully examined the proposed law and it was was in our best interests. I am happy to report that it appears our self serving election denier is going to be stymied in the courts and a by few brave Republican Senators in his efforts to restrict voting. I am supporting Todd Achilles as are multiple other former Republicans, Independents, and Democrats. If you can’t send a few dollars to support the campaign consider getting a sign for your yard.

The news today is that the U. S. Economy is slowing, well below the modest estimate of 2.1% for the past quarter.  Even the hand picked Fed Chair of POTUS cannot justify lowering interest rates in the face of rising unemployment and inflation. Our country is facing the classic example of Stagflation.  Supply shocks, like sudden spikes in vital goods like energy or oil  only add to the complexity of policies needed to re-balance our economy.  The economy  is now Global and our national debt crisis could well result in losing our well earned status as the safest home for investment in the world.

Global warming is not a hoax. Record high temperatures and drought conditions have spurred fires across the planet.  The Oregon fires have burned 1.7 million acres this summer and that is before the typical worse part of fire season, Idaho has 535 fires burning, over 440,000 acres. Costs in Oregon are above $220 million.  Greenpeace

Estimates the wildfire costs in Spain will be in the $1.7 to $3.3 billion range. France is also on fire.  Tariffing Canada for their wildfire issues that affect our country is beyond absurd.

Karen took the above picture while walking with her mask on a dangerous air quality morning in Boise. The sun is a beautiful Orange ball in the sky, it is the only benefit of the smoke that threatens the health of our citizens. I remind myself each day, “We the People have had enough!!

I have received so many kind and thoughtful condolence notes about our friend Mmma.   Thank you.  Mike
