Time magazine features a black border on the cover of the current issue. The cover displays one number – 200,000. A conservative number of lives in this country lost to COVID-19. There is no doubt that Fearless Leader knew how serious this virus was or that he chose to misinform the country.  For a leader who enjoys chaos and fear it rings a bit hollow that his concern was to keep us calm. Seems more likely he wanted to keep the financial markets from reacting to the facts, while he hoped it would all go away.  It is not hard to see that the bizarre actions then and now are designed to protect his re election bid.  While fires rage in the Pacific Northwest, infections and deaths continue to mount, schools cannot safely fully open, and we are facing a mounting financial crisis, our Fearless leader invests his time on campaign rally’s based on fear, watching Fox News, and ignoring the pressing needs of our country.  The man is of bankrupt character.

The last Time magazine that featured a black border was after 9-11. Today is the 19th anniversary of the hijacked air liner attacks on the World Trade Center twin towers in New York, the Pentagon in Washington D. C.  and a fourth plane headed to Washington D. C. that crashed into a field after self less passengers thwarted the hijackers. The nation reeled as the horrific events occurred before our very eyes. Our nation had a President who understood the need for leadership in a crisis. President Bush will be remembered standing at the Tower site with a bull horn showing his compassion, support and determination. “One of the worst days in America’s history saw some of the bravest acts in Americans’ history. We’ll always honor the heroes of 9/11. And here at this hallowed place, we pledge that we will never forget their sacrifice.” A unique concept – be there when the country needs you.  Joe Biden, said “We didn’t crumble after 9/11. We didn’t falter after the Boston Marathon. But we’re America. Americans will never stand down. We endure. We overcome. We own the finish line.”  Please honor our commitment to never forget those lost their lives in the attacks and the first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Fearless had the audacity to quote FDR at a recent rally, “we have nothing to fear but fear itself.” I am modifying that quote to remind us that “we have nothing to fear except four more years under the current administration.”  Or in short, we must 8645.
