I have thoroughly enjoyed the news today! It feels strange to be so happy. Our parents always told us that “the road will turn” when faced with a bully, liar, or fraudster. They will get their “just desserts.” On Thursday, two notorious figures went to battle. The “Orange Wanker” gave the “Hitler-saluting Musk” a gold key and dismissed him from his temporary government job. DOGE was a bust, likely adding expenses to our budget while missing the $2 trillion reduction target by almost $2 trillion. The lives sacrificed to make a statement with the elimination of USAID are an American tragedy and will go down in history for its heartlessness. Not a single judicial action has been taken to punish those allegedly inefficient scammers. Also, the DOGE gang has not been cited for their blatant efforts to undermine our government offices and harvest sensitive data.

Americans root for the underdog, and in this case, it is those of us who hold democracy sacred. There is no one to root for in the Musk versus Trump battle except that the chaos may wake a few MAGA folks up to the reality and facts of the current situation. The traitor in the Oval Office commented that the end of WWII was a bad day for Germany. The Chancellor of Germany corrected him by reminding him it was a day to celebrate as it marked the end of the Nazi reign—fascism pushed back. Our orange bigot told a story about two children fighting and how it was better to wait until they finished. Again, the German leader reminded Trump that Putin attacked civilian targets and non-combatants while Ukraine only focused on military targets. #47 is a threat to the world and our country and leaves the US as a fallen leader in global leadership.

I saw several posts highlighting the “same-sect” bromance of Musk and Trump. Divorce is not generally something to celebrate, and it is not amicable. If you followed their texts back and forth, it was like two children squabbling. Both are losers as threats and retribution hang in the air. The Big Beautiful Bill is in doubt, Trump is threatened with the release of the Epstein Files, and Musk says he will shut down SpaceX before the government can cancel his contract. Our Space Station astronauts may need a Russian rescue from Soyuz to return home.

Do you remember Dana Carvey’s Church Lady character on Saturday Night Live? She came to mind as I watched this bromance come to an end. I am sure Church Lady would recite her famous line upon hearing the details of this spat—“Well isn’t that special?”—and she would likely ask, “Who do you think made you do these things—was it Satan?” The YouTube videos will make you laugh—Church Chat.

I have to conclude with my last coherent thoughts around this week’s events: “Birds of a feather flock together” coupled with “honor among thieves” sums up this dynamic duo. The honor thing is about a shared code of conduct generally around morally questionable desires, where parties overlook their differences to carry out a criminal or questionable act. This pretty well describes the shady relationship between these “same-sect” friends. I truly wish they would both get the “flock” out of our lives.

Please let your U.S. Senators and Representatives know what you think about cutting Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security Administration, VA, Education, FEMA, NPR, Forest Service, NOAA, NIH…to allow for continued tax cuts.

The picture is not a TESLA but a very dependable Chevrolet. Enjoy the weekend.
