‘Being annoyed, unhappy or bored’ is the one sentence etymology according to an Ai site of Fed Up. I asked it for the entomology of “fed up” and in the kindest way it reminded me it has nothing to do with the study of insects. The phrase is used “in the context of human emotions and situations.” The Orange Wanker keeps threatening to fire the head of the Federal Reserve because he will not lower interest rates. I wonder if he realizes that there are 15 Federal Open Market Committee economic experts and at last count 8 favored or expected two rate cuts over the remainder of the year and 7 continue to feel there is too much uncertainty to project any reduction in rates. Powell is the Chairman and not all of the members vote but he is not the sole determinant of interest rates.
What is the current cause of “uncertainty”? Could it be the ‘helter-skelter’ disorderly haste or confusion—of the tariff policies of the current Regime. The Fed has a dual policy mandate of maximum sustainable employment and price stability. The unemployment rate has risen from a 2023 low of 3.4% to 4.1%, still a solid number. Recent ADP payroll data recorded a loss of jobs in the economy for the past month. At the same time the Government said there were 147,000 new jobs, 100,000 of them in Education. ADP counts payrolls and have for many years, the new Government number is highly unlikely and not creative as they are touting eliminating Education jobs. The federal funds rate has remained in the 4.25-4.50 range for four consecutive meetings. The decisions are data driven—as inflation has still not reached the price stability target of 2%. The most recent inflation data showed an uptick with full tariff pricing not yet in effect. Lowering rates at this point would likely fuel inflation and threaten a recession.
On another level I am pretty “fed up” with the current Regime. I hate hearing the Orange Wanker speak as almost nothing that leaves his lips is true. I have enjoyed watching his MAGA base excoriate him over the Epstein files. He now says some of his followers are “stupid and foolish” and “weaklings who believe the Epstein ‘bullsh@t.’ There is likely a reason they do not want to release the files and it is not because Obama, Comey and the Clinton’s invented it from whole cloth.

If it were not so frightening and sad, it would be humorous. What kind of representative of our country could sign off on eliminating funds for Foreign Aid and NPR. Giving this henchman a life time appointment is an abomination.
I am ‘fed up’ with my golf game but how can I complain about getting to play golf any time I want with people that I like. I thought you might enjoy seeing the wildlife that still abounds in the foothills. A turkey is a noble bird, here the hen is protecting her poults. These beautiful creatures should not be confused with the “turkeys” running our country into the ground.
